Please help me with the new tool for editing text. If I delete a word in the transcript, it doesn't

 If I delete a word in the transcript, it doesn't get removed from the timeline. What might be going on?

Highlight the section you want to delete so it turns blue, then delete. You'll see the {} bracket highlighted.
