The Importer reported a generic error after premiere pro 2024 upgrade

Hi,

My project has all of a suddent begun to encounter the issue with 'the importer reported a generic error' after I did the autoupdate to Premiere Pro 2024. This project had been faultless up to now.

I tried an in-app media cache delete and then an in-system media cache delete via explorer (windows). After the in-app delete nothing changed. After the in-system a different set of assets emerged with the same generic error issue to before i deleted the cache. Am i going to need to re-render these files? They're not specific to one format type. They're all MP4 H264 from different sources. I've not moved the assets across drives. It worked last week and now it doesnt work.

Any thoughts or anyone else experiencing this issue after the 2024 update?

Hi.

Progressing my troubleshooting. The suggestions from @Peru Bob didn't seem to make much sense to me but I tried them and no success. I moved the assets to a dedicated local drive and it seems to have solved the issue in the main, although there are still a few items that have the same conflict still.

My bad: it's not Premiere 2024 - it's 2025.
