Time Interpolation: Frame Sampling and Opitcal Flow in PPro, then again in Media Encoder?

Hiya,

say I have a sequence in PPro, and some of the clips are slow mo.  Most of the clips are using standard "Frame Sampling" but the slow mo clips are using "Optical Flow" for the time interpolation.

Now, when I got to export it all thru Media Encoder, at the bottom there is a little drop down menu that wants me to select the Time Interpolation....  3 choices,   Frame Sampling, Blending or Opitcal.

What should I check?  My export has regular and slo mo. Seems odd to have to select one at export when the sequence has multi selections.

Please advise,

Thanks!
Letty

Correct answer Carlos Ziade

just keep export settings (Time Interpolation) at frame sampling

since you are not exporting to different frame rates,

Optical Flow still applies to and affects the clips you assigned that to in your sequence...

Optical flow in the export settings analyzes the entire sequence not just the clips which have OF applied.

I said optical Flow for clips in the sequence Ann.. Sequence = Timeline not export settings

The settings in the export settings affect the entire sequence.

You dont check them, unless you are e.g. exporting to a different framerate.

In PPro seq: when I changed the speed of a clip, I would select opitical for the time interpolation for just that one clip.

All other clips are the default 'frame sampling'

But in Media Encoder settings page, it requires a selection to be made.  (can't leave it blank)  frame sampling, blending, or optical. (located close to the bottom of the settings menu)

I'm assuming to leave it on 'frame sampling' but not positive. That selection would throw off the opitical selection for the slo mo clips in the sequence?

Thanks for your reply.
