Timelapse Image Sequence Project Refusing to Render or Export- How to Fix?

Community Beginner ,

I am putting together a timelapse for a University project and have encountered a severe problem with using my image sequence, that being that Premiere Pro (CC, tried on both 2017 and 2018) won't allow me to render or export the sequence, nor would it correctly display the preview window at some points in the sequence, forcing me to do some of my editing blind. My best guess is that some of the images in my image sequence have in some way become corrupted, but I can't be sure of this, nor do I know, in any case, what action to take in order to remedy it and complete my assignment.

If anyone has had any similar experiences and has a solution, or anything else that would spread light on the matter, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Post a screen shot of your sequence settings.

What are the properties of the source still images (pixel dimensions, codec, etc.) ?

Some information about your computer hardware and operating system will be helpful.

Sequence settings are as follows, some aspects of which being specified by University:

"Editing Mode: Custom Timebase: 25.00 frames/second

Video

Frame Size: 1920 horizontal 1080 vertical

Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)

Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)

Display format: 25 fps Timecode

Audio

Channel Format: Stereo

Number of Channels: 2

Sample Rate: 48000 Hz

Display Format: Audio Samples

Video Previews

Preview File Format: I-Frame Only MPEG

Codec: MPEG I-Frame

Width: 1920

Height: 1080

Composite in Linear Colour"

The source images are JPEGs and their dimensions are 5184 X 2912px, deliberately larger than needed for the project to allow for keyframed camera zooming without harming the quality.

The computer I'm using is a Lenovo laptop running on Windows 10, which has an Intel Core i5-7200 CPU and 4.00 GB of RAM, 3.83 of which is still usable.

Hey dominicpowell98,

If you're getting a compiling error, try these steps: How to fix issues that cause errors when rendering or exporting

Thanks,

Thank you, though I'm not sure the error I was getting is listed. The screen I got read "Import Error" telling me the "importer returned bad result."

Change the location of the source files to a different folder and see if that helps.

Thanks. I've done this and can at least now see as I'm editing, however exporting the full thing is still impossible. The most I've managed is the first three seconds, after which the thing always crashes. I have 28 seconds' worth of footage I need to use, so naturally this is not acceptable for the project. It seems that certain image files it doesn't like for whatever reason, but I have no idea how to amend this. The project is also prone to freezing my entire laptop.

Which format are you exporting to?

Have you tried exporting to a different format (as a test)?

The computer I'm using is a Lenovo laptop running on Windows 10, which has an Intel Core i5-7200 CPU and 4.00 GB of RAM, 3.83 of which is still usable.

That's not enough to run the application without any hiccups. Is GPU Acceleration set to Mercury Playback Engine software only or OpenCL?

Best,

Rameez

Computer is choking on the large stills.

4 gig of RAM is way to little

I'm having this exact same issue. So frustrating.

I've tried different export locations, output formats, turned GPU rendering on/off. Nothing works.

I'm on an iMac with the below specs. Just upgraded to the latest OS.

Processor: 4 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Never have issues with doing anything else.

Can someone please help,

Dave
