Timeline in 2019 and new sequence

Before the most recent upgrade to 2019 when i imported a video and added it to the timeline it would tell me that the video didn't match the sequence settings.  I would check the box to tell it to change the sequence to match the video settings and it would then add to the timeline and be ready to go and the line would be yellow and not red. No rendering needed.

Now, after the upgrade, when i go through these steps when i place the video on the timeline and tell it to match the video setting it now has the red line indicating it has to be rendered.  I cannot figure out how to place any video on the timeline without having to render it. 

Help.

    If that's a desktop, you would do that in the BIOS, typically. All my desktops have been set through the BIOS to use the GPU rather than internal chipset. There isn't a setting in PrPro. Now ... in the Project Settings dialog, is yours offering you CUDA acceleration for Mercury Acceleration?

    You set me on the right path to correcting this.  After Google search I ended up uninstalled nvidia display drivers and installing most recent by doing a clean install.  After reboot and install Premier allowed me to change to hardware CUDA and I'm now living the dream.

    What is your hardware? Especially the GPU, as the newer version does not support some of the older GPU cards.

    I have never seen a RAW piece of footage with no effects added that comes in directly on the timeline that requires rendering to view. His system spec is far from being ideal.

    OP can u post your system spec in detail please including :

    Processor speed

    RAM amount

    GPU model

    Operating System
