Using PP 23.5.0
MacBook Pro M2 Chip
When I edit a transcript generated by PP, the whole section of the transcript disappears. The audio and video remain; only the transcript is missing. (See attached screen shots of before and after). This just started happening within the last week. I edited several videos with complete success before this started happening.
I did not update the software, and I am unsure if any system updates were done that would cause this issue.
I have tried closing PP. Rebooting my computer. I even when back to a previous project that had been edited successfully, and I am having the same issue now with those.
I just started a new project, imported the video and had PP create the transcript... I'm able to edit it no problem on the new file. I'm going to redo that whole other project to see if something happened during import or set up... or something else. I appreciate you getting back to me.

PR 23.5 is the latest release. I am not seeing this problem, and I don't recall other reports of it. A screenshot that shows your timeline, program monitor, and transcript tab would be helpful.
Are you setting in/out points using the transcript tab? How are you executing the edit?

I have the transcript editing window open. I double click on the word I want to edit. Change/fix the word. Click outside the box. The area flashes and then the section where the edit took place disappears. Here is a link to a video screen recording.

Thanks for the video.
As you say, you are in the Text Panel/Transcript tab, in the Sequence view of a Source media transcript. When you edit a couple of words in a transcript section, and then click outside the editing mode box, you can briefly see the edits, then there are 2 shifts (can't tell what happens), and what remains is the transcript with the entire section that was edited missing. (There is a gap in the transcript timecode.) I cannot see the whole timeline, but you say there is no change.
I'm on Win10; also in PR 23.5. I cannot replicate. The edit in the transcript is made correctly.
If you create a new project, import one video, transcribe, create a sequence. Do you edit step. Does the problem occur?

Let's see what @The31540667nxui has to say.
It does sound like there may have been an issue with that existing project, and starting in a new project might help.
First, I would create a new project in your current version. Add a single clip, make a sequence, transcript, and do some editing. If that shows errors, report back.
If not, in order until finding a fix, I would first reset the workspace being used ("Reset to saved layout"), and then reset preferences (unless you have a lot of customization). Then, if this was a project started in an earlier version of PR, I would create a new project and import the old project (or just select sequences), and then create a new project and rebuild.

Are you working with multicam audio? I seem to have the same issue as you when working with audio that's nested in a multicam sequence. If I Flatten the audio clip first, then make edits to my transcript, they stick. I thinks it's a multicam/nested audio bug. I'd prefer to not be forced to flatten the audio first - It'll mean more work reverse engineering things if a client wants to make changes
