Transcription not working

On Adobe Premiere Pro v 22, the transcription tool stopped working. When I click on it, nothing happens. The Before photo attached is before I click on transcribe sequence, and the After photo is after I click it. It used to work on the earlier version. Am I doing something wrong, is there a bug, or do I need to reinstall it?

Hi,

it's very odd that this is not working on your end. Did you try and re-install Premiere?

If that doesn't work either, can you install the Beta version (go to Creative Cloud Desktop app, select Beta apps in left-hand column) and check it there?

Thanks,

Kerstin

@hunt4kelly1,

Thanks for the explanation. That is helpful.

I think a screenshot would be helpful that shows the timeline (track headers included), the Text panel/transcript tab, and the program monitor.

Thank for all your input, this is helpful.

I have two more questions:

- Are you using multi-channel audio with your A7iii footage?

- Is the audio "clean" or does it have a lot of background noise, overlapping dialogue, etc.?

Best,

Kerstin

Hi,

I had this issue but didn't notice that "ignore transcript" was selected when right clicking on the clips in the sequence. Deselecting this allowed me to see my text based editing transcipt.

I fix this quickly by chaning my window type.
Window -> Text-based editing (or something different than what your currently using)
then switch it back to your window style that your using. When I did this, I got my transcript back
instead of the stupid "<type your caption here>". I also didn't have to restart/reinstall Premiere Pro, which is great because who has time for that nonsense?
