TRANSITION GLITCHES

I recently did a project that switched between videos of church members singing a song. A number of the transitions came out very 'Glitchy'.

Originaly I thought it might be an issue with the dissolve transition, but even when I substituted for a manual opacity fade using keyframes it remained. this occurred on other videos so it's not a problem particulary to these videos. Can anyone shed any light?

Uncheck Composite in Linear color in the Sequence Settings.
