Transitions similar to Film Impact...

Community Beginner ,

I've been using the transition packs from Film Impact and like them very much.

Are there any other such transitions that drop right on to the edit the way Film Impacts do?
It seems everything I find requires an adjustment layer or something.
Thanks in advanced.

The included transition effects are designed to be a basic tool that you extend for your needs by modifying the parameters, not at all like the final 'pre-baked' ones like you buy elsewhere.

So the concept is you modify them to needs and tastes, then save as a preset. Then you have your own variations of each effect ready to be applied as chosen ... and modified if wanted or needed each use. Just drag/drop your preset onto the clips.

Hi Neil,

Have a look at these transitions at https://www.filmimpact.net/

I realize you can modify what comes with premiere...

What nice about these is they show up in the transitions folder and drop onto a cut point without a lot of fuss.

Is there another package out there that like this?

Once you've created your own transition by modifying the included tools in PrPro & saved as a preset, they show up in your presets folder and are drag/drop just like any other pack you can buy or acquire. No more fuss than the purchased ones.

As to packs of transitions, there are several, if you search long enough. LUTs, transitions/special effects, that sort of thing is pretty commonly available. You sometimes need to do a bit of searching though.

I've searched, hence my query on this forum.
Mostly what I find is presets that need to be applied to an adjustment layer.

Showing up in the presets folder is not the same as being available in the "Video Transitions" folder.

The folder is important apparently  ...  ?

I can grab things from one or the other just as easily.

Perhaps...
Maybe the best way to explain it is how a simple dissolve goes across an edit. (Outgoing and incoming clips).

And the same goes for dissolves they can't go on a clip.

I tried some free presets from orange83 and the just go on clips.

Transition that are made of effects (presets) are not real transitions.

Filmimpact is one of the few that makes real transitions. Drag and drop and done.

Hi Ann,

In reference to my original question, know of any other transition plugins that behave like the Filmimpact set?

Thanks,

Joe
