Hi there,
I have been baffled on how to create, what looks like a simple effect, to the point of giving up!
I have followed a number of videos on creating transparent text using the Track Matte Key, this for example: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=transparent+text+premier+pro#kpvalbx=1
I know where everything is and follow this video, however the moment I select the track for the Matte: track my text jumps...huge.
No idea why. Tried all kinds of ways. Whenever I select the track fro the matte Key or apply motion the text jumps.
Any thoughts would be great. I'm using PP 2019 CC.
Many thanks, Pete

Make sure the frame the text is on is the same as your sequence.

Hi there Ann,
Thanks for the reply.
The link I sent wasn't right, it is this effect I'm trying to get right: How To Create Transparent Text In Premiere Pro (Track Matte) - YouTube
Using a new Legacy Title I set the width, height, timebase and pixel aspect ratio exactly the same as the sequence and the moment I click the Matte the text go's huge. I just can't get this to work ![]()

The implementation of the Track Matte key is pretty bad. Scaling the background also scales the matte, which is rarely desired.
I suggest you Nest your text in a Sequence the same size as the sequence you're working on. Do your text scaling inside the nest. Then, you'll probably get the results you expect.
