Trim Tool brings the spinning beachball

Whenever I enable the trim tool on a clip in the timeline, Premiere pauses for a few seconds with the beach ball spinning.  I've reset the preferences, rebuilt the cache (which is set locally), nothing's worked.

Everything else is super snappy - any thoughts?

OS 15.6.1, Mac Studio M2 Ultra, 62GB RAM, Premiere 25.2.3, Using Productions on Lucid Link

Have you tried using the latest version 25.5?

Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?
