I had the same problem. It appeared after I installed the Sony Catalyst plugin. I went to Library/Application Support/ Adobe/Common and deleted all the files under Sony. Restart Premiere Pro. It worked again.

I created a new file folder on my desktop then saved a copy of my project to that folder. Then I opened my project from that folder. It works fine now. As someone said previously, it seems the autosave is just making a bunch of folders and confusing the program.

I discovered that when the path exceeds 260 characters (including file name and extension), windows don't recognize the path and the motion can't be loaded, I suggest making shorter paths for files

Saving the Premiere Pro file in a different folder was the only thing that worked for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwzjIDuS4ks

Literally none of these solutions worked for me, I tried all on this thread and even 2 I found on Youtube. It's REALLY frustrating. Any other possible options anyone can think of?

My colleague was intermittently getting the error "Unknown error while loading Motion Graphics template" in Premiere Pro.
None of the solutions in this thread worked.
As part of troubleshooting, he attempted to load the MOGRTs into AE. AE popped an alert about insufficient disk space for memory to function smoothly (he had 65GB of space on a 500GB drive). He then wiped a bunch of unused data from his hard drive (opening up about 300GB), which seems to have resolved the issue in Premiere Pro.
Possible solution: Make sure you have enough free disk space to operate without caching/memory errors.

You should try to move your project files to another folder. I moved my project files to the desktop and it worked in MacOS.

Literally, 2024 and Adobe does not provide a solution

In my case the issue was with the file path. I was working within a bunch of subfolders and I guess the temporary folder for the motion graphics template couldn't be created since the max string size was reached. After saving the premiere file to my desktop, it worked.
