Hello
Now and then I need to use Adobe CS6 applications to get the work done.
In this situation I needed to work in Premiere Pro CS6.
The film I am working on in PP CC 2024 ( 2024 is without the 'legacy title' feature) is in two formats:
one is MOv and the other is MP4.
MP4 plays fine in PP and plays fine in a movie player.
However when I import it into PP CS6 I get unsupported format or damaged file.
Is there a method to 'repair' what is working in other applications that is now not working in PPro CS6?
Thanks
Hi @Ezad,
Thanks for the information. This might be related to a bug the team is working on related to H.264 files containing AAC audio on Windows 11 systems.
Which OS are you using? Are you abiding by Premiere Pro CS6 system requirements? https://adobe.ly/3Ckrw7E? If so, your combination of OS, media, and the application will likely work as expected. If not, I suspect it's your use of a modern OS with an application that required "Windows 7" with media that contains an audio codec that is incomp

Follow up.
I went to https://repair.cleverfiles.com uploaded the MP4 - and I got a it's intact - that the file was without fault.
So why cannot this MP4 be brought into Ppro cs6?
Thanks

Hey there @Ezad,
Glad to see you here again. Thanks for the message. The file might have something wrong with the audio codec. Which OS are you using and what is the audio codec embedded in the .mp4 file? Is it AC3 or AAC? Let us know. You can check this with freeware "MediaInfo." Here is the link for that: https://adobe.ly/4h2E8iW. With a little more info, I think we can help you find a workaround for your CS6 workflow and files like this. Take care.
Thanks,
Kevin

If you have a Windows 7 system, or even a Windows 10 setup with CS6, your issue might subside. If you do not have access to a system with such an OS, you are faced with transcoding the media to one that is compatible with your OS. See if one of those options might work for you. I sure hope so. Let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hello
In the work area I have with Windows Windows 7 (virtual machine) and all other computers all running Windows 10.
Here is the annoyance in an attempt to fix this issue:
Hello
I have Premiere Pro open.
I have a couple timelines with this specific project.
The timelines are edits and after a complete edit I would export to MP4
Thus I have five MP4s of this Interview.
On another computer I cannot open propj of this Interview; the MP4s will not open in Freemake (to do another format as AVI or MOV)
I can play the ‘damaged’ films in a video player; and I can upload the MP4
Thus on the original work computer I have Premiere Pro 2023 open with all the assets and timelines and so forth there. At least I can work on the original materials. On one computer with Windows 7 CS6 PPro unable to import that MP4 and on another computer with Windows 10 Pro CS6 unable to import that MP4.
Here are three screen shots.
PS One would think that after the edits (Neat adjustments; color correction; and Audition adjustments that the file could be exported MP4 and that that file could be opened without failure notices.

Hi @Ezad,
Thanks for the screenshots. Hopefully, we can get a product team member or an Adobe Expert to respond. Please allow me a little time to try and get this case more attention. Sorry for the hassle, and thanks for your patience.
Cheers,
Kevin

Hey @Ezad,
The team suggests that best way forward is to transcode those problematic files. Let me know if you need help with that.
Cheers,
Kevin
