Untrimmed frames showing up as trimmed

I am making a video that is comprised of several clips.

I want the same kind of transition (exponential fade) between all clips, where the transition is centered over the clip junction and extends a half a second into the clips on either side.

However, some of my untrimmed clips do not have the rounded top edge indicating it is an untrimmed clip. PP is rendering it with a square corner, as if it was a trimmed clip.

What I actually have: [ Untrimmed clip ][ Untrimmed clip ][ Untrimmed clip ][ Untrimmed clip ]

How PP renders it: [ Untrimmed clip ][ Trimmed clip ][ Untrimmed clip ][ Untrimmed clip ]

Is there any way to set the properties of a clip to let PP know it is an untrimmed clip?

I just found out what was wrong.

The video clip rectangle had a triangle on one end, but not on the other.

The problem was not the video clip, it was the audio clip that went with the video clip.

I lengthed the audio clip, and all is well.

My "solution" turned out to be wishful thinking. There was a clip that I could not lengthen--either audio or video--so I just deleted it from the timeline and dragged it in again from the Project tab. It arrived in the timeline without the white triangle on one side. I am giving up and figuring out a work-around.

I think we are talking about two different things.

You: What happens to the white triangle markers AFTER you apply a transition? (Known bug)

Me: I need the white triangles to appear BEFORE I apply a transition. (Per the OP, don't assume the MP4 clips are trimmed.)

Good catch on the 'rounded' thanks!

I not sure if that's the current explanation, but an 'untrimmed' clip will have the 'rounded corner' on either side, depending on if a clip is trimmed on that end.

Thus in your first shot, the beginning of the clip appears to have been trimmed.

This is actually a bug: untrimmed clips with a transition applied do not show the trim icon.

Interesting that you see the beginning / end of clip marker as a rounded corner. Those little triangles automatically show you are at the beginning or end of the clip, thus you have no 'handles' (extra-unused frames for a transition). Can you drag that clip onto a track by itself and try to lengthen the clip. And a screenshot may be helpful.
