Very inconsistent behaviour with live-preview when adjusting audio levels

Hello!

Any idea why Premiere seems to randomly fail to give me a live preview when I adjust audio levels on my clips?

Oh gawd. Now it's playing up even more.

Making ANY adjustment while it's playing makes it immediately very loud. Sort of. Take a look.
