Video glitchy upon exporting

Community Beginner ,
Mar 22, 2024 Mar 22, 2024

I have tried 18 times to export any of my videos. Using 3 different cameras, their formats include .MOV and .MP4. I experimented with edited footage and raw footage, recieving the exact same glitch upon exporting each video. I tried exporting directly through Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, no change in result.

My preferences are:

  • Presets - High Quality 1080p HD or YouTube 1080p Full HD
  • Video - 1920x1080(1.0)
  • Format - H.264
  • Aspect - Square Pixels (1.0).
  • Range - SourceIn/Out
  • Checking "Render at Maximum Depth"
  • Checking "Use Maximum Render Quality"
  • Tier - High
  • HDR Graphics White (Nits) - 203 (75% HLG, 58% PQ)
  • Bitrate Encoding - VBR, 1 pass

I have already tried the following:

  • Clearing the media cache
  • Updating Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Running a System Compatability Report, no issues were found.
  • Updating my computer
  • Changing the format from H.264 to HEVC (H.265)
  • Clearing my computer's storage
  • Changing the Project Settings' Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only
  • Checking accelerated decoding

All I want is to export my video without the glitch, with or without my preferences. Thank you.

UPDATE: I uninstalled my NVIDIA Graphics Driver, performed a clean installation of the latest one. It released on March 19th, 2024. The export seems to have worked! I'm going to try with my preferences next.

UPDATE 2: I can export my videos without my preferences in the HEVC (H.265) Format, using the Renderer of Mercury Playback Engine Software Only. This process works directly from Premiere or Media Encoder.

Hello,

It sounds like you've tried a variety of troubleshooting steps already, which is a good start. Since you've encountered the same glitch across different cameras, formats, and export methods, it's likely that the issue lies within the sequence settings or potentially within the footage itself. Here are a few additional steps you can take:

Check Sequence Settings: Ensure that your sequence settings match the settings of your footage. Sometimes, if the sequence settings are not aligned with the footage, it can lead to export glitches. Make sure the frame rate, resolution, and other settings match your footage.

Test with Different Footage: Try importing different footage into a new project and see if the export glitch persists. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the footage you've been using or if it's a more general problem.

Test on a Different System: If possible, try exporting the project on a different computer with similar specs. This can help determine if the issue is related to your system or if it's a software-related problem.

Reset Preferences: Sometimes, preferences can get corrupted and cause unexpected behavior. Try resetting Adobe Premiere Pro preferences to default settings "Open while pressing shift key" and see if that resolves the issue.

Open a new "Sequence"

Confirm Sequence Settings: Before exporting your video, ensure that your sequence settings match the properties of your footage. Right-click on your footage, go to properties, and note down the important information such as frame rate, resolution, and codec. Then, create a new custom sequence in Premiere Pro with these exact settings.

  1. Frame Rate and Resolution: Pay close attention to frame rate and resolution settings. Make sure they are consistent with your footage to avoid any compatibility issues or glitches during export.

Pixel Aspect Ratio and Color Space: Keep the pixel aspect ratio set to square pixels unless you've shot your footage in anamorphic. Stick to the Rec. 709 color space unless you have specific requirements for a different color space.
