Video Pauses/ Audio Keeps Playing

New Here ,

Hello all

I am experiencing an issue with Premiere that I cannot seem to find a solution to.  While playing the video (after a a few clips) the video "locks" on a frame- but the audio keeps playing.  At times, instead of locking on a frame, the frame turns completely white.  I am using an HP Model 15-AY103DX, and am using 1/4 on playback and paused Resolution...also using "Mercury Playback Engine software Only" under project settings.  What other adjustments can I make to resolve the issue?  Do I need to download a new graphics card?

Please help!

So to clarify, are you playing the sequence and Premiered continues to go through the various frames of the sequence but the video looks to be frozen?

My suggestion is to test with other video clips to see if it is a specific one that gives problems. Of it is happening with all clips, even simple short ones, try create a new sequence, or a new premiere project. Testing is sometimes a process of eliminating possible causes - is it the video file, Premiere file. Once you eliminate some options you could test hardware related things - like does the project work on another computer (if you can access one for testing).

regards
Dean

In reply to 1st question: Yes, the cursor is moving ahead in the timeline at the bottom...but the screen above is frozen (or sometimes white)

I am at my desk at work, but will try with a new sequence when I get home.  Thanks for your help so far!

Where is the media from?

If it is variable frame rate, you will need to convert it to constant frame rate with HandBrake before importing into Premiere Pro.
