What's with the stupid text panel??

Why, when I double-click footage in my project panel does it open up this daft new Text panel? I want it to open up the Source panel the same way as it always has done.. What's going here? Why does it now do this?

I agree with Ann; this should not happen, and the preference reset is a good thing to try.

You might also try resetting the workspace you are in.

To give you a bit more info: the new "Text" panel is for captions. It will appear in a variety of situations where the focus is on the timeline, even if you have no interest is creating/using captions. But I just tested it, and double clicking a media item in the Project Panel opens it in the Source panel/monitor.
