When a feature is more useless than not having it all: Autosave

Autosave set to save every 5 minutes
Come to recover a project today and it hadn't saved for 25 minutes. Looking at the autosaves the gaps between them is pretty random - but nothing near 5 minutes.  What's the story?  Is it just rubbish, or is there something else going on?

Autosave has never been reliable.

Sometimes autosave won't start until a manual save is done.

I used this app on my phone for a while - a dinky music looping app.  It was really thrashing the hardware but the amount it could do was nuts.  It would crash and I'd reload and I never lost a single thing. Not a thing!

Autosave is not a guarantee. It works  ... mostly. Which means at least occasionally it will fail when that is painful.

Like Ann Ben's & many others, I do a save routine while working.

A manual CTRL/S save when I finish any step.

Save a Copy every so often, after a couple major things.

And on major projects,  I'll do a Save-As to get an iteration of the project every couple save a copy times.

This all gives me a trail of project files. Plus I do have Autosave set for 5 minutes.

And the last couple times I needed it, it actually worked. But even if it didn't, I'm good.
