When I open a project in Production some projects don't appear in the production header.

When I open a project in Production some projects dont appear in the production header. Some do. Some dont. Why is this?

To be clear at the top of the window is listed import / edit / export. Under this is  production I have open then project one project two or what ever I have opened.  So I may select what project to work on at the top and keep all open to work in between each project. But at least one project will not show here. It will open, I may select it where it is listed below to open it. But to work on it I must change the type of workspace to say edit. Then I can work with it. But it will not appear in the list at the top with the others. Maybe I imported it wrong. I am not sure. It would be easier to just select it at top. Does someone know what it is?

This is with Premier Pro creative cloud current. Amd 7 2700 nvidia 980ti.

Did you open the Production? Open the Production, not a project from a production. If you do, then you have the Production appearing in the Project panel, with all the projects inside it showing there.

Yes I opened the Production. Then I opened 3 projects. So now 2 show at
the top beside the wording of the production project. But 1 shows it is
open but is not listed at the top with the others. So I can select the
other 2, but to select the other 1, I need to go lower to where it is
listed, select it. Then change the workspace to edit. Then it will open up.
Also when I do this it is listed in the header. All projects are then in
the header. But when I go back to production workspace it goes back to what
it was.

The only projects that will show up on separate tabs are ones you are currently working in. That's as designed, and as I've used a large setup with many projects in Production mode as my 'normal' working mode for several years, I've never noted a trouble.

So ... what's the trouble you're having? Or did you just expect it to automatically open all the projects? And if so, why did you need them all open? Just curious.

Especially as the main way Productions handles massive projects more efficiently on a machine is that it can reference the media/assets across the Production without needing to open the individual projects. Which means less overhead on the machine.

So I open a production. Then a project. The project name appears beside the production name. I can select the production name and open or close a project. I can select the project name and work in the project. I can select a second project and it will open and its name will be beside the production name with the first project name. I am now able to select which project I would like to work in. But some of my projects do not do this. I can select them under Production and they will show open. But the name will not appear beside the others at the top. I cant select them to open. The only way I can  is to highlight the project, then go to workspaces and select something other than production workspace. Then it will be open. It is not easy. I must have an imported wrong or have a setting wrong.

I could not fix the project. So I made a new one. A lot of work and a day later, but the new one is working properly. Hopefully it stays that way. Thanks for the input.

If you closed the project panel by mistake for one of your opened projects, you can reopen it from the Window menu: Window > Projects > "your project".
