When I open the COLOR tab to use the color workspace at the top of premiere pro, the entire program goes grey (on one screen on a 2 screen layout).

This happened after downloading v12.

Try this; when the screen goes grey, go to the menu Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout.

Yes, this one worked on my black window as well.
