Why does it take 10x longer to render my AE composition in Prem vs in AE?

Hello,

Hopefully this screencast demonstrates the ridiculous render time in Premiere (7 hrs to render a 26 sec AE composition I've brought into Premiere. It's just a fairly standard 1080p bunch of titles with photo montage background)

Why is it so unusably slow in Premiere and literally 10x faster rendering in AE?

I can't seem to take advantage of my CUDA gpu (GTX 980m) when rendering out from AE, like I can in Prem and AME..

I've told AE to use CUDA but I can see in Performance monitor it's caning my CPU and my GPU is at 0-2%.

Premiere Pro is a multi-threaded application overall, but it only uses a single thread with Dynamic Linked comps.

AE will render those same comps with all available threads.

If CUDA is on, it's being used where it can. Usage monitors aren't always accurate.
