Why does my computer have a hard time editing captions?

It's not so bad that I can't work with it, but it does lag a little when making cuts and changes to the text; it seems to lag most when the text menu is open and making changes in there. Wondering if I can improve the workflow/ speed it up somehow?

My computer specs:

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
GTX 3090

Forget the brand of the drive but it's a nvme ssd 1tb but I have a few samsung ssds for extra storage that I source from

Hi @christopheru18772433,

I read your note. Your computer looks pretty powerful and should not have performance problems. Try this: start Premiere Pro on its own instead of double-clicking a project, like in this post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/extremely-lagging-and-slow-when-typing-captions/idc... I hope that helps work around your issue. Does it? Very long sequences might also have this problem. Do you have a lengthy sequence? Let me know.

Thanks,
Kevin
