Why premiere wont allow us to copy-paste through timelines between different versions of Adobe apps?

Okay i relaized this update with Premiere Pro 2025.

Before this update, let's say i have a project in Premiere Pro 2024 and i want to copy the sequance or anything in the timeline to the Premiere Pro 2023 or to the After Effects composition, normally all i have to the was select the materials in timeline and then go the the other premiere pro and just paste it. But now they are only allowing this through apps only with same versions. And i really dont understand why they're limiting this.

We don't have to update every apps right away, some of us still using the previous versions.

Non-sense.

There are tons of coding and tools differences between versions. Especially going backwards, things that you've done in say 25.x aren't included in say 23.x ... so how is that supposed to work?

It's footages that i'm trying to move!!
if there are effects or any new features of course i dont except them to move it but fundamental elements they should've keep it. Let's say i've done some speed ramp in 2025 but my 2025 crashing for some reason and let's say i couldn't find a solution or i have an urgency, so i would like to have the freedom to move those footages with same features in every versions to the other apps. I try to downgrade my current project file but showing me "the project could not be loaded it may be damaged" error and literally the file is solid but couldn't fix and recently too many small annoying issues bothering. i got things to deliver and i don't want to do all the things from scratch again.

I'm not saying it easy i'm sure they think this is the best option for smooth UI experience but they had it before and now they do not have.

Instead of copy/paste, try importing from the one project to another project.

wow thank you for this solution Peru. I'm using premiere pro over 5 years and never thought this idea before. The problem is not importing! I want to move that files exactly the same from my timeline to the other version, i've already did some basic editing, i dont want to do it again that's the issue i'm trying to deal!

You didn't actually try PeruBob's suggestion ... he didn't say import the media, he said import the project.

Or in this case, probably just import the sequence you want to work with. I think this can go 'backwards' ... but as always, test.

Media Browser panel, select the project file in the folder list area, click Import. Then import the sequence you want to work with.
