why won't premiere pro cc will not let me add an adjustment layer
I'm just guessing because you haven't provided very much information, but most likely you're trying to create the adjustment layer through the File Menu without having focus set on the Project panel. If you select the Project panel, then File>New>Adjustment Layer should be available. You can also create the adjustment layer through the New button in the Project panel.

Hi DPR Music,
What happens when you try to add one?

Hi thanks for responding.
The Adjustment Layer option stays greyed so I can't select it.

Thanks.
Accessing it via the Project Panel worked.
Another question.
I am using a trial of Premiere on a Macbook Pro 10.8.5
2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 w 8 GB.
The project I'm working on has 10 tracks only 2 have video most of the project.
I've added some Rampant transitions etc.
In preferences i set premiere to use 4 of the 8 GB.
So, i'm trying to figure out why Premiere:
1) Quits
2) Sometimes will not play but lets me save then i have to re start.
3) Sometimes only the audio plays and the video remains frozen.
4) Do you have to keep all of the rendering files?
I am a musician by profession so forgive me if i may not be using the right terminology to explain myself.
Thanks so much for your help.
I really like Premiere and After Effects and have been a fan of Photoshop for years.

Glad that you got the adjustment layer issue worked out. Not quite enough info to troubleshoot the other problems. The following page outlines the kind of info that helps zero in on the cause of such problems: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
As to the cache files and rendered previews, you do not need to keep them. Premiere will regenerate them as needed. Because re-conforming the audio and re-rendering the sequence takes time, you probably want to keep those files around for the current project--unless, of course, you have reason to think that the cache or render files are causing problems.
To keep things clean and get the attention of more people, it would probably be best to start a new thread for the other issues.
