Working video files recovered from failing HD won't relink to project; importer error.

These were files linked to a project. The clips play fine in any media player, but when trying to relink back to Premiere, the importer gives a generic error. Any clues?

Instead of relinking, try reimporting and replace the orignal clip with the newly imported one.

Try renaming the clip and then importing.

What is the file extension?  Is there a period in the file name?
