Why is my premier pro working great for a while zipping through the time line plays straigh away, then after a while it all starts to slow down like its ran out of gas.
So i restart, everything is back working nicely then slow slow slwo like the machine is saying give me a red bull.
Ive tried all the usual stuff dumping cache changed rendering settings etc. The media is hd no 4k and the os are on ssd drives im running a Nvidia rtx 2060 not great but i would imagine should be ok to do the job. Any ideas? thanks

Same here. Windows 10, Premiere23.4. Nvidia RTX4000, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core Processor 3.69 GHz, 256 RAM, footage in proxy stored in an SSD and it´s almost impossible to work. Laggy, slow response.

What happens now??

Its very much hit and miss with me, dont ask me why but i disabled the wifi then it all worked fine, i re-enabled it and its still ok for now, im only connected via wifi but if you have ethernet plugged in try plugging that out also or disable it. Perhaps all the backround adobe processes are causing issues.  worth a try

Weird @emmetr21808029! If you kill the background processes related to Creative Cloud, does that help? Let me know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Happy to help! Thanks for sharing the info. Could you launch Premiere Pro, hold down the Alt key, and select the Disable third-party plugins (one-time only) option? Let us know if you still see the playback issue. This will help us isolate any issues with third-party plugins. Also, please update your GPU to Nvidia Studio Driver 531.61 if you don't have it installed.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

Hey Emmet,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Could you let us know which version of Premiere Pro you're using? If you close and reopen the Sequence instead of closing the project, does that temporarily fix the issue? Please share your system specifications (OS, OS version, CPU, RAM), source file properties (Format, codec, frame rate, frame size), effects used, and any third-party plugins you have installed. We're here to help, just need some more info.

Thanks,

Ishan
