You can save presets but how do you save actions?

We all know you can save effects into presets for later use.

But how do you save actions and effects into a preset?

Example:

I have a clip on timeline (with effects on it), I duplicate the clip 4 times and stack it on top of each other.

The clip at the top I move a few frames to the left

I move the other clips a few frames to the right

I have just performed actions. I then next the 5 total clips together.

Say I want to do this for another 950 clips?

Do I have to individually perform the actions or is there a way for premiere pro to save the actions I have done and apply it to future clips that I choose.

This is a productivity issue.

I have contacted Adobe and they have not responded. It has been over 2 months. I wish they took me seriously.

I use a Contour Shuttle Pro for editing and this has the options to assign macros to individual buttons, I have several setup to do a sequence of events. Many computer mouse drivers will also let you setup macros.

but be careful.  It's easy to make a mistake in setting up the macro that can have unintended consequences.

I used to use this years ago

How did you contact Adobe. The only way to do that is chat or phone.

There are ways you can save say a sequence with stacked clips, all of one clip, then to reuse that, open in another timeline (pancake type work) and replace the media on the one timeline with the media in the other using a "replace clip" command. Jarle Leirpoll covers that in his book The Cool Stuff in Premiere Pro which is available both ebook and paper. I recommend you acquire as for any serious work in Premiere, that massive tome is the best source I know of for practical information.

The process uses nesting of the 'source' clip within a stacked sequence so that you only need replace the one instance to replace the several instances of the clip. He creates a "template" sequence using bars & tones clip for the video/audio clip.

In use, you add that template item to your sequence, then simply "replace clip" with the media you are using on your sequence. It's fairly simple in operation once you get it down, but takes a bit more explanation and examples than really works in this forum.

My head is spinning.  but honestly can't think where I would ever need to do this...  as far as using macro's, etc.  back in the day when I started on avid, I was obsessive about finding the fastest way to do things.  Now I realize the creative part of the process is what takes the time so I'm not in as much of a rush.
