5 Feature Suggestions: Make Markers Searchable across Projects +

[1] MAKE MARKERS SEARCHABLE ACROSS ENTIRE PROJECTS, NOT JUST WITHIN CLIPS

I recently purchased an app for Premiere called POWERSEARCH. It allows you to search and find markers and captions across your entire Premiere Pro project in a split second.  As a documentary film maker I usually have a lot of footage to sift through and with Powersearch I can instantly find any Premiere Pro marker across the entire project. I don't have to be in the clip itself to locate it. This feature alone is saving me hours of needless searching.

e.g. : In the example below, after tagging more than thirty WW2 newsreels with markers, I can now type a search term like "Dunkirk" and Powersearch instantly pulls up the four different marker locations with that label. Thank you Powersearch!

[2] ALLOW US TO SET OUR OWN MARKER "DEFAULT COLOR"

Am I the only one who doesn't like dark green as the default marker color? I know you can just hit "M" twice and then change the marker color in the marker window. But why not allow us to change the default color from green to one of our choosing? I like white as a color since the text is black. Why can't white be the default color instead of dark green?

[3] REGARDING MARKERS, CHANGE THE DEFAULT DARK BLUE BACKGROUND of marker overlays in the Source Monitor window:

If you can set any color you wish for markers, why can't you change the background color of the marker from dark blue in the overlay setting of the Source monitor window? Black text doesn't stand out well against a dark blue background. Why not white or red as a background instead? In my example below, see how much easier it is to read black text on a white background vs black on dark blue? Adobe please give us the option to change the color of the marker background in the monitor window overlay settings.

[4] KEYBOARD SHORTCUT FOR SPLITTING OR EXTENDING MARKERS

I'm a big fan of keyboard shortcuts, why can't we have a keyboard shortcut for splitting or extending markers instead of always having to use the mouse to drag out the marker?

[5] KEYBOARD SHORTCUT FOR SWAPPING CLIP ORDER IN TIMELINE

It would be much faster to be able to select two clips in the timeline and hit a keyboard shortcut to swap their order instead of mousing over and clicking and dragging to perform the same function.

Adobe, if you decide to take just one of these feature requests, please just make markers searchable across entire projects. That alone would kill the competition. Been waiting ages for Final Cut Pro to adopt that feature and they never did. I finally moved on to Premiere after discovering Powersearch. But better still would be if Premiere offered this feature natively. Unfortunately Powersearch does not offer a dark user interface and the very bright white window is a little jarring on the eyes when all the Premier panels are dark.

Regarding [2], I just discovered that it's quite easy to make any of the other colored markers the default marker. Just go to the keyboard shortcuts menu, look up "Add Marker" which also lists the assignable shortcuts for any of the colored markers Adobe offers (blue, cyan, green, etc). Must have missed it during my rant, 😂. So instead of "Add Marker", I mapped "Add White Marker" to the M key and "go to previous marker" and "go to next marker" to the "comma" and "period" keys (after moving "insert" and "overwrite" to keys Q and W), to keep everything in one place.
