Changing the default font in Essential Graphics

Essential Graphics opens with Minion Pro as the default font. If I want to use a different font, I have to change it everytime I create a new title.

How can I set the default font to what I want ?

This idea is one of several needed to really ramp up the EGP/mogrts operations for faster and better workflows.

Especially as "Master Styles" are limited to a particular project. Which to me is a very painful limitation right there!

This has been 'migrated' on the forum here as an Idea now, which is replacing the previous Uservoice system.

So ... it would be nice to see some up-voting on this happen!

I feel your pain.  In the world of TV promotion, we make many, many new projects every day.  I'll try a "master style" but it's a far cry from just setting my station font to default and never worrying about it again.

I do promotions to and I'm right with you. I just shut off Minion pro to see if would switch to another font but premiere just reactivated the font.

Most Recently Used (MRU) font choice is remembered for each new Text Layer. This is sticky for any new Layer, Graphic, Sequence or Project within that Application session. If you quit the app and restart it with the same or different project, then the next text you make will use the default font (Minion Pro Regular). But all you need to do to remember a new MRU is select a layer that uses the font you want.

If you are often making new title based on ones you've made in the past, you should consider exporting a template (MOGRT) for yourself so you can just drop that in as a starting point whenever you want new Title. You can also alt/opt + drag a Graphic in the timeline to duplicate it.

Have you tried setting any Master Styles, of the font choices you like?

Thanks Mr Haugen - you put me on a track.

However, I can set a Master Text style with the font that I wan't and it works when I create new titles in that specific project. But when I exit PP and open a different project, the Master Text Styles that I saved before are not shown in the other project - only in the one where I created it.

Surely there must be a way ...

I know that's been suggested, but it isn't an option. If you have master styles set you can quickly get to something more useful.

And get to work.

But please pile onto the feature requests made to allow setting default text styles over on their new user voice feedback system.
