Clip status indicators using Fx badges should be reinstated.

In Premiere Pro ver24.4.1, the specifications of Fx badges for clips on the timeline have changed.
I think it's a very stylish visual.
however···
In previous versions, the color specifications for Fx badges were as follows:

No changes → Gray
Changes due to motion have been added → Yellow
Changes due to effects have been added → Purple
Changes due to motion and effects have been added → Green
2430.jpg

I was able to see at a glance what adjustments had been made to the clip.
In ver24.4.1, only two types can be determined: "Changes" and "No changes."

Change the color of your Fx badge to increase your work efficiency.
I have had the experience of being helped by this specification many times, so I would like you to return to the original specification.

I'm currently on Ver 24.4.1 and am massively struggling to work out what tracks and clips on my timeline have FX on them and what don't.

In previous versions, there were purple, green and yellow boxes on tracks that indicated whether they'd been modified or not. In this version, there's a measly white 'FX' icon vs one that's a more grey colour that indicates the use of effects now. This is simply poor UI design. I now can't tell at a quick glance what does and what doesn't have FX on them, nor can I tell from a distance when working on a large edit.

Current version:

Previous version:

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Or is there a way to revert back to the old UI for the timeline tracks? If not, please consider changing the new UI to be more indicative of track modification.

Many thanks,
Liam

Several experts asked them to get these back in the Beta forum, but no answer from PPro team...

I've posted back over there also. This is NOT an improvment.

Wow, I just found out about this today after booting up 24.4.1.

Who thought this was an improvement going from the obvious "yellow FX badge" to a thinly font FX on black?

With the minimalistic FX badges that have replaced the bigger and colorful badges, it's such a visual nightmare right now to figure out what parts of my timeline have effects. I hope this gets patched ASAP.

IMO, the new 24.4.1 FX badges are too difficult to tell what has Effects without spending precious time zooming into the tiny FX letters and investigating. The old FX badges could give you a general sense of information by just glancing and seeing yellow/purple/etc square badges on your clips in the timeline.

It's like April Fools Day is everyday with Adobe's dev team. Do they all just use some other editing software then ship random things that no one would actually want?

Yeah lol. Every update forces us users to submit UX feedback because they changed something for the worse. It's tiring.

@Collin K

Guessing, once it is gone it's gone forever and never coming back.

In all those 25 years I have been using Premiere, I only have seen one feature ever returning to the program.

Hi Ann, thanks for also escalating this. I figure if you and other experts are running into these problems then hopefully some of the Premiere team will take notice. It's a bummer to hear that you think these changes are unlikely to be reverted.

This thread has specifically called out the FX badge problems with the last update. After using this version over the past few weeks, I've also noticed related problems with this UI changes:

Duplicate Frame/Dupe Detection clips can't be seen with duplicate frames on the video layer unless you increase the track size (which is insane)

Selecting a clip on the timeline with certain label colors can be difficult to see what has been selected

Duplicate frames have been fixed in the beta.

Since the playback issue has been resolved (at least for me) I only use the beta.

If an unusable version has been released, I temporary use the public released version.

I use the classic label setting and avoid dark colors.

Thank you. I have never downloaded the Beta version before, so it's nice to see the Duplicate Frame bug fixed. Still, it's a bummer that the minimalist FX badge is here to stay as you predicted.

24.5 is a pretty bad change to these, I can no longer at a glance look at the timeline and see which clips have FX applied

Finally I did the update to 24.5 few days ago, I didn't update before because I didn't want to lose Fx badge status indicators, but I needed some other useful new features so I did the update.

After using 24.5 for few days, I found that the new fx badge is super useless, and turning off it's visibility in the timeline makes me feel really comfortable now. I really miss the old status indicators...

@ali Jaber I agree the new FX badge is super useless. Have them turned off also.

Imaging hovering over each clip in a timeline with hundreds of clips instead of just looking at the colors....................

I  now open the ECP and arrow down the clips to see which effects have been applied or not.

not to mention, the FX badges do not appear at the head of a clip, which makes it difficult to see what's going on for longer clips.
AND, the red line under FX badges that indicated the source clip had an effect on it, has now been replaced with a black line that is difficult to see.
Please fix!

One thing I do like is the ability to click on the FX badge and it opens up in the Effect Controls. keep this!

I simply cannot comprehend why they moved the badges to the end of the clip. Past removing the easiest visual clue as to what the clip has.

Then, putting them so close to the clip end that they cause issues when trying to either simply grab the end to make a cut change, and make it difficult to use the cool new audio crossfade tool ... it's beyond my ability to find logic here.

Due to several factors our team decided to update to 24.5.

While I've already clearly voiced my concerns in Ann Bens' post I now had the entire post team (12 ppl) complain about this. Nobody is happy with these changes so it's clear to me that this design was a bad decision.

I hope you will recognize this Adobe and revert to the style that simply worked.

I have been working in AE primarily the last few months, but now coming back to PR and seeing this change now on a daily basis is painful.

Bring back colored FX badges or add a more some more information density to the UI than on / off. It was such an easy glance to see what clips had color or scaling applied now its impossible to tell whats going on at a glance.
