Move and edit the default Proxy Watermark

Guest

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a possibility to move the default watermark because it is annoying in the bottom left corner.

I know about the possibility of creating your proxy presets, but you have to determine the aspect ratio every time, which doesn't fit different aspect ratios. I can only avoid the aspect ratio problem using the Premiere Preset (Picture 1), but unfortunately, I cannot control the default watermarks position then.

I looked inside the Premiere Pro program files for an opportunity to edit the watermark and found the path to change the default watermark icon (Picture 2), which was too large for me. As you can see in the picture, I could replace it with my watermark. (Pictures 3 and 4)

Also, I found the ingest preset for proxies, but I couldn't edit the position in the Program Monitor (Picture 5)

Now, I am looking for the Encoding Preset that determines the position of the watermark (bottom left corner) to edit it. Does anyone know where it is located?

Using the default Premiere Proxy Preset would be great because it adapts all aspect ratios, with the opportunity to move the watermark, so it doesn't block chyrons.

Many thanks for considering my request.

Hi Jonas,

Sorry about the frustration. Your feature request is a good one. Premiere Pro proxy workflow would be better if you had a choice related to the location of the stock watermark.

You can create your proxy presets. First, create an ingest preset, and turn that into an encoding preset. You can use an encoding preset for making custom proxy presets for watermarking footage. You can use your logo or whatever graphic you like. Please take note of the tips section: there is a tip around how to solve the aspect ratio issue you mentioned there (In short, it has to do with creating the proxy with a size containing divisible numbers).

I'll move this to "Ideas" so the product team will see it (and I will upvote it); however, in the meantime, you may want to experiment with creating custom proxy presets. Check out the tips and processes for making these on this page. I hope this info helps.

Cheers,
Kevin

Thanks for this! Was trying to find the png to change it. Location is fine for me. Just wanted something smaller.

Hey Kevin, can you re-establish that hyperlink for "tips section" and "this page"?  Showing a 404 error.  Could probably use these tips right now.  Thanks!

It's an old thread, but fwiw: I like using a burnt-in source timecode in proxies in place of a watermark.

I'm having a little trouble placing my custom watermarks into the lower right corner. They seem to want be centered. Is that the case with your watermarks? If you have time to check that out, let me know.

Thanks,
Kevin
