Please let me export and reimport transcripts

Please let me export and reimport transcripts IN AN EDITABLE FORMAT. I can export and reimport transcripts in a binary .transcript format for which I have no editor. I can export transcripts and captions in a text format, but cannot reimport either after running them through a text editor.

This would save me hours of work daily.

@DemSign,

Round-tripping for edits is very important. The "import corrected" function was a big step forward.

The .txt will work for this purpose, but it does require great care in not changing the format. And only relatively minor edits are intended.

I have also experimented, mostly successfully, with removing ALL the formatting, and importing the edited text as ONE big paragraph with a single return at the end. PR happily places the text where it had the original timing. As long as the changes are spelling, minor corrections etc, this works okay.

If only that was a real option.

@DemSign,

You appear to be in Sequence/Timeline view of the Text Panel/Transcript Tab. And you probably have only source transcripts.

Switch to source view and you will see the option to import corrected (source) transcripts. I have not tested what happens when there are multiple source transcripts, but the function should work.
