Shortcut to select a clip (instead of Mark Clip)

The feature is very useful to actaully edit with the keyboard. Adobe just thinks we use it only export a clip from the timeline but I use it all the time to select a piece of clip that I just cut, and hit batch delete from the keyboard and move one. No mouse at all, which is what gives speed to my editing workflow.

Now, when you mark a clip it does it changing the in and out of the timeline, which is unprofessional if you had already selected one. And another annoying thing is that if you had a clip already selected (with the mouse) when I hit detele it delets that and not the clip I hav supposodly marked.

This was a feature that we wre able to do in good old Final Cut 7, ¿remember? So I know it's possible.

A keyboard stroke, and you have your clip selected, delete and move on.

I'm a little confused as to what you're asking. Mark Clip does try to mark a clip and somewhat respect whatever tracks are toggled on. But if you have several tracks toggled on in a multiple-clip stack, then Mark Clip probably doesn't mark the single clip you want.

There's the "Select Clip" command ('D' in the default keyboard shortcut), which is equivalent to clicking on a clip. It can also select multiple clips with a single keystroke depending on what track selectors are turned on. Is that
