At the moment you have to hover over a clip in the timeline to show its duration. It would be much more helpful if you could just activate it like the "clipname" for example so it is shown directly on the clip.
Utterly unbelievable that this is not a standard feature in premiere. So very critical for timeline editing. 15 years of professional editing experience here and here 's me thinking NLE would surely have gotten a lot better by now. Premiere still feels like a toy when editing real world heavy duty content. Avid feels old and at the same time lightyears ahead when speed, reliability and focus are required.
Long time Media Composer editor here. I switched over to Premiere Pro and I am dumbfounded that there is no option to see the clip durations of each clip dispalyed on the timeline. This software seems to have options for everything under the sun except what is important for a skilled editor -- feedback on pacing. I can't visually look at my timeline in Premiere Pro and see it. This is the easiest thing to add yet for some reason has not been added yet. It's now June 2024. I don't know if Adobe wants to be taken seriously but they need to ADD THIS. The bells and whistels of the software mean nothing if I don't have the feedback I want on editorial pace to quickly and efficiently edit.
