Use a marker to select In and Out on the sequence or clip - a feature request?

Hi all,

Either I have found a missing feature, and/or i'm missing an option that lets 'you' select for 'marker based editing'.

Let me clarrify: I've let premiere transcribe multiple interviews (great!, also unrelated), than while having the usefull qoutes selected in the text (this step conveniently and very related: also creates an In and Out point on the time line simultaniously). Next I make a marker (shortcut M). Next I label the marker + add optional info to the marker etc.

I was unaware there's Premiere Pro doesn't allow for the marker to have additional workflow function, which to me seems crazy (knowing premiere workflows I was baffeled it isn't there - so still hoping I'm wrong and missing a switch somewhere (!!!)). Sure it's my mistake, because I've had an oversight in my desired workflow (this worked while testing, because the initial selection was still active and I not moved back to multiple markers to test).

So the next step is where my workflow fails and a possible feature request begins: So what I would like to achieve next is: select the In and Out of any or multiple marker(s) and past this/these in a new timeline (basicly marker based editing?).

This would also be fixed if selecting the marker would automatically do the In and Out selection (the text panel does, as described above). While leaving it at a single marker selection, getting the marker to select the (same) In and Out point by selecting the marker, would allow for copy-pasting a single selection and resolve this, allowing for my desired workflow. This would allow for marker based selection / editing.

The workaround for now is to have snapping active for the sequence, move the timeline-playhead to beginning of the marker (select In) move the timeline-playhead to the end of the marker (select Out) and than copy-paste. So I'm good for now, but it would be priceless to have the marker selected, making it copy-paste-able. Again I wouldn't be shocked if it is possible already, cause I was under the impression impression one would be able to furthwer utilize the marker information within Premiere.

Couldn't find this in any other post, but imagine I'm not the only one noticing its abscense.

Have a nice day!

Best,

Jeroen

Isn't there a button or switch for that?
