2000% speed up Video Lag

Hello!

I have 2 questions and I am hoping someone could please help me!

1. When I speed up a video to 1500-2000% the video plays smoothly for a bit then starts lagging. If I pause for a moment then play the video becomes smooth again for a little bit until the playback starts lagging again. Could someone please help me? I have already made it so premiere pro gets the most Ram possible.

2. I have a HP Spectre x360 (2018) with Radeon RX Vega M graphics card (note. Core i7, 8th Gen).While using premiere I open task manager and notice my Radeon graphics card isn't being used. For example I play back some of the stuff I am working on and the shared intel graphics card is being used to 55% but the Radeon graphics card is at 0%. How do I 'activate' my radeon graphics card.

Note. The footage being sped up is gopro footage (1080p, 24 fps)

I'm not that familiar with the AMD gear to know by numbers how powerful things are. That said, GoPro is some of the nastier long-GOP media made and if you're getting that good a playback with it sped up to as much as 2000% I'm quite impressed. On a laptop even!

Many desktops struggle with standard playback of that once you add much Lumetri or other effects on top.

So even a really powerful PC with a good graphics card would experience some lag? If so thank you very much for you answer (:

Certainly can at times. Depending on exactly how the "power" of the PC is arranged. 10 cores seems to be about as many as are useful for PrPro at the moment, so getting as close to that as possible helps. The processor speed is also crucial ... if at all possible above 3.8Ghz or even 4 or above.

Then ... new high-speed RAM at up to 10GB per core, and past that, a GPU with the right number of processors and memory so that it meshes speed with the CPU when called on. Which is where knowing the difference between a GTX1060 and say a 1070Ti ... some circumstances you need the 1070Ti, in others, it's overkill.

Then of course, having a decent SSD for OS/programs and an m.2/Nvme SSD for projects files & such with perhaps an extra SSD (also internal) for certain parts and spinning discs used only for archiving and such low-speed needs.

Working with H.264/long-GOP media is a drag on most anything but a really well-tricked out computer for NLE and grading apps. Which is where proxies become very useful.

Gopro is highly compressed footage. Needs horsepower to proces.

If you just want to use the Radeon disable the intel in the bios.

Might want to consider proxies for the Gopro.

We could say that is some normal, are you tryed export your video? If your exported video have this issue THAT is a problem, but if not, take it easy, you haven't got no problem with your system. Have in mind that you are accelerating at 1500-2000% a video that normally are at 100%, something gonna happen in the timeline when I do something like this. But, if you have a little RAM memory this is a problem too.
