audio import speeds up the mp3 twice

audio import speeds up the mp3 twice - never had this issue before and usually use the same sequence settings but this time whilst importing the song PP has decided to speed it up twice whilst keeping the file size the same length so the other half of the file is silent .

any ideas ?

converted to wav though an online converter as even the media encoder can't cope . THANKS #ADOBE !!!!

mp3 has never been a good editing format. Converting to wave has always your best option.

You could also use Audition.
