BRAW plugin + BRAW Studio proxy/online workflow – Has this issue been solved yet?

Black Magic's plugin that you need to import BRAW media into Premiere is unable to Reconnect to Full Resolution Media from attached proxies. BRAW Studio claims you have to purchase their plugin for $70 and uninstall BRAW's original plugin in order to use this proxy/online workflow without issue. Is this still the case?

Sadly, the BlackMagic freebie plugin ... you pretty much get in worth what it cost you. I gave up on the blame thing and bought the Autokroma plugin, which just works, period. And gives extra options like presets. Besides, the Autokroma people give the best support on here for working with the BM plugin ... including on their website, they have articles on the various problems with using the freebie and for some of them, the way to get around the issue. Their explanations on what is a problem, and why, are the best you're going to find on the issue.

And I'm going through the BlackMagic forums daily.

So ... for best and widest use, most stability, for me it's worth the annual cost for the Autokroma plugin. Everyone's mileage always varies of course. I've also got the full Red Giant Universe plugin suite. Because for some things I do, well ... it save me a ton of time and gets the job done.

I know this post is a bit old, I just discovered it and people could still read it like I just did so I wanted to make a little update. 

Thanks @R Neil Haugen for your answer on it by the way ! Just a note: it is NOT an "annual cost" for the plugin ("annual cost" would mean next year you will need to pay a new time to use the plugin : that's not true !). 

Otherwise, first BRAW Studio has a FREE mode now equivalent to what the Blackmagic Plugin does, and some bugs which you can find on the Blackmagic Plugin are solved in this FREE version. For example: the "Reconnect to Full Resolution Media" is working in the FREE version of BRAW Studio. So there is not any advantage to use the Blackmagic Plugin anymore ! Second: BRAW Studio offers way more with its "Premium" version ! A Panel to work better and quicker in Premiere Pro, an After Effects effect to change the RAW Settings, a Desktop Standalone Application to work with BRAW Files, ... It has a lot of extended features !
