I'm new to Premiere Pro CC 2017, coming from FCP 7. I want to use Encore but I've been told that I first have to download Premiere Pro CS6 but am having a difficult time actually finding where I can do that here.
So please help me find the download for Premiere 6 and also for Encore as well so I can build and burn a DVD. If not, I'll have to use DVD Studio Pro from Final Cut.
Thank you,
Jonathan

Great, thank you. Installing CS6 right not.
BUT what about Encore? I don't see it on my list.
Thanks

So now when I go and open a Premiere Pro CC 2017 project in Premiere Pro CS6, it's saying "The project appears to be damaged, it cannot be opened" Any idea as to whey this is happening?
Thanks

This is because the file format for Premiere projects is not backwards compatible. If you want to author a DVD in Encore, I suggest you export your project from PPro 2017 using one of the MPEG-2 DVD presets or a high quality intermediate format. Encore will either pass through the video when authoring (it will recognize it's already in a DVD suitable format) or convert it at the authoring stage if you're using an intermediate format.

Oh, gotcha. Can I now delete CS6 and still keep Encore because I never downloaded Encore separately and it came over when I downloaded CS6. Thanks.

I have the most recent update on all my premiere products and when i try to uninstall Premiere CC to download Premiere CS6 I am not given the option for CS6, it only goes as far as Premiere CC 7.0. Do you know how to find CS6??

Josh: Open your CC for Desktop panel and drill down on Premiere Pro. You'll find CS6 there.
Go here:
Click the disclosure triangle to expand Premiere Pro and find more options:

when I do that my Premiere Pro CS6 says "up to date" but there's no install/open for it. which is why I am confused because looking through different forums most of them include going into CC and going to the CS6 install/open.

That means you probably already have it installed. If you don't see it in your start menu, look in the program files to see if it is installed.

Encore is no longer available for download and nor is CS6. So why hasn't Adobe created something to author DVDs out of Premiere Pro???
Frustrating...

Legal issues, and... my GUESS... not worth the effort for the (small?) number of sales
