Exporting became very slow out of no where

So I got Premiere about 1 week ago and I figured out the best settings to export it at and everything was going great and the exports were amazingly fast, 10 minute video in 14 minutes. Yesterday I created a 6 minute video which took 3 hours. I thought it might just be the game I was playing in that video. Then today I tried to export a 1 minute video. It doesn't say how long it's taking but in 10 minutes it's at 25%. I'm not sure what could have happened so I came here for help. Thanks in advance!

are your source properties the same as the ones you were using before the issue appeared?

yes

Have your sequence settings changed or are you using different effects or different export settings?

im a beginner editor so yes i use more and more effects as i get better but i don't think there was enough to cause any problems in the new exports. Export settings are the exact same as when the exports were very fast.

Have you installed any new softwrae on your system or added any virus protection that might be causing issues with writing data to disk?

I have not installed any virus protection or any software(other than a large video game) that could be causing issues with writing data to disk. I have an ssd and an hdd. I put the same .mp4 onto each hard drive, then tried to export a couple seconds to test if it was one of the hard drives. Still had the problem.

"Make sure your sequence settings for previews match your export format"

I'm not sure what this means. My timeline has a red bar above the sequence though so I haven't rendered previews.

So after you told me to check previews, I went and checked/unchecked every export setting one by one and found out that the problem was that I continued to add more and more effects every video, while keeping "Maximum Render Qaulity and VBR 2 Pass" both on. Without them, the estimated time remaining shows and it is much faster. If there is anything else you know that could help me speed up render times, I would appreciate it.

Sorry for the late response, I thought I had "email me replies" checked. I appreciate the answer!

Un-check Render at Maximun Depth and Use Maximum Render Quality in the Export Settings dialog unless you really know what they do.

Here's a suggestion.  Make sure your sequence settings for previews match your export format.  Render your timeline and then when you do your export make sure "use previews" is enabled.  If you find the rendering is taking a very long time, render sections (mark an in and out and "render in to out" til you find the problem clip(s).  Everyonceinawhile, a sequence could get corrupted.  You can create a new sequence with the same settings, and copy the contents of your problem sequence into the new sequence....

Please post back and let us know if any of this helped so other people can hopefully deal with this sort of problem
