Some clips have turned invisible in the preview

Explorer ,
May 14, 2020 May 14, 2020

Premiere Pro 2020, Windows 10.

I dumped a bunch of pngs into my Premiere file. When I dragged one onto the timeline, it wouldn't appear in the preview window. It shows up in the timeline.

Then I rendered my video, and now a bunch of other stuff has disappeared from the preview. I can see the items in the timelime, like type, some pngs, and some video clips. I can preview them in the source panel. But when I'm watching the video, those assets do not appear at all. When I render or export, they are not there.

I was able to find an older auto-save file with some of the missing stuff, but is there any way to salvage my most-recent save file? Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

This sounds weird. We're sorry about the poor experience. Have you tried switching the Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only and checked if it's restoring the preview. Also, is this happening with other projects as well?  Let us know, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Thank you for your reply.

I have completed two projects about 1-2 months ago, and I had not experienced this problem at that time. I'm only working on one project right now. If I encounter this problem again, I will try switching the renderer as you suggest.

Thank you.
