The last two months of project files are missing

New Here ,

I was continuing to edit a project that I had been working on for about a week this Thanksgiving day, saved the file and closed my computer to recharge the battery. When I opened it to begin work again on Friday all of the .prproj files from the last two months are gone! Can't find them anywhere. All of my files before that date are still around but nothing after it. At least five projects. Searched everything I can think of in Finder, updated the Premiere CC software, looked in the trash on my Mac. Nothing. Help?!? Please.

that's the "auto delete all cache and subsequently all files in that same folder" edition of premiere. in which case, stop writing to the hard disk, use a data recovery program. then update premiere out of that version.

The same thing happened to me literaly just now as well!!

I was working on Premier, it froze so I closed and restarted it. When re-opening the project i was working on, most of the files on the timeline got marked "offline" so I looked inside my folders to relocate them, and realisez almost ALL OF THE VIDEO FILES USED IN THE PROJECT just DISAPPEARED from my computer, as well all my previous Premier project files!

They're not in the trash, and haven't been relocated elsewhere, it's just gone..!!

Please help too ><

(PS: using this version of Premier Pro

Thank you. I will try a data recovery program. I've never used one. Any

recommendations for Mac?

I have recently run into this same issue of older prproj files missing. Does your answer mean that if we updated to that version of Premiere then Premiere itself deleted those files? (I'm currently on Version 12.0.0 Build 224, and I try to update regularly.) I'm trying to wrap my head around why I can't find prproj files that I haven't worked on in a couple of years but know I myself didn't delete. There have been no HDD crashes or anything. I save prproj files in the default location, but there are no prproj files there over 6 months old.

I have been unable to locate files I was working on in Feb/March of this year.

After much searching through hidden folders I found autosaved copies of files I made in April. I can't remember if I updated in between, but don't understand why they are missing if I haven't touched or deleted them?

Help! I'm using PrPro Version 12.0
