So I just got premiere rush and I keep on having a major issue.Anytime I open a folder it says "no files to show". A example: Let's say the folder is called "my videos", when I go to the videos on adobe rush it's there. However, when I open it now files are there. All help is appreciated.

Solution for others who copy a folder from Google Drive to another area

Rush cannot see the  copied folder... Why not?  is the million $ question as there are a few Drive users...

RH click the folder, properties, then Attributes. the unblock / select Read only, then Apply

Then Rush can see the folder

I am having the same problem. Downloaded a video from shared google drive folder and copied to a folder in my onedrive. That video does not show when I go to that onedrive folder in premiere rush. I checked properties and the video is marked "read only". I untoggled read only. I still does not show up in rush. I looked at properties again for the video and read only is once again toggled. I untoggled read only for the entire folder and again for the individual file. Read only keeps coming back on its own. I untoggled read only for my entire onedrive. Read only also came back on its own. So, that's a separate problem. I tried another angle. I once again untoggled read only on the video file I want to edit in rush, then copied and pasted it into the video folder in my C drive. Checked properties for the copied file and it is not read only. It also does not show up in rush. Note, this has not happened for other videos I've downloaded from the same shared gooogle drive folder. I can ask the originator of the shared folder to check the file, but I don't know what to ask. Thanks for any further insight.

    Hey all,
As this was the first search result when I searched for this problem, let me tell you what helped me after getting in touch with support!

It was Dropbox! And it very well might be the same with Google Drive, or other cloud services.

Directly from the awesome support person I got in touch with:
"it is happening because Rush is not allowing other application to access the files Drop box only has Read only permissions

Due to Read-only permission, Rush are not able to catch the files from Dropbox."

So the solution for me was to close dropbox for the time of using Rush.
The same was not causing me a problem with Premiere Pro though, so hopefully in the future it gets figured out for Rush as well.

So click dropbox, click your profile pic, and then click Quit

An infinity of YT videos on how to edit video in Rush. But if the programme does not recognise your videos in the first place, they are all entirely useless, while you spend your life looking at a black screen.

We may need a little bit more information...  Your screenshot shows that you are currently looking for media to import into your project in a folder called "Captures"... Is that where the media you want to use actually lives, or is it in your Photos directory (or some other location within your device's storage options)? If the "Captures" folder isn't the proper location, you'll need to click the left arrow in the upper left corner to return to the full list of importable locations (including your device storage, cloud applications, and favorited locations):

If that is the right location, the video or graphics you are trying to use may not be compatible; make sure to only point to .mp4, .mov, .jpg, .png or other approved assets. Take a quick look at https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-rush/help/import-footage.html for additional help.

Once you find the content you need, click to add, and then either create or return to your project. Hope this helps!

This doesn't help. No files are shown anywhere in my case, no matter which folder.
