Question

Timeline timer shows a wrong number of frames

I'm using a mobile version of Adobe Rush (iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 17.3, app version 2.10 (1)) and the timer for the timeline shows that my videos have more frames. I imported several clips to this timeline and all of them are 25 fps. For some reason, when moving the play head frame by frame, it shows frame numbers from 0 to 28 and then back to 0. Is there any way to set 25 fps as my default timeline setting? I don't like the "it should work" approach. I shoot all of my videos in this frame rate.

Attached are screenshots from the app and technical details about the clip that is imported in this timeline.

Hi @Bartosz35694338bgdm,

Thanks for the question. The frame rate and size of the sequence is usually determined by the first clip you edit into the timeline. Is the first clip you added of a different framerate? Let us know. I hope we can help. Sorry for the issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @Kevin-Monahan

Thank you for your reply! I understand that the timeline framerate and size (is it the same as aspect ratio?) is determined based on the first clip imported into it. However, it happens every time I import a clip that is 25 fps. Frankly, I don't event understand the last number on the timer at this point. Why does it jump from 28 to 0? Even if there is only one clip that is 25 fps, the counter still works like this:

00:00 00 (that is the very first frame), then the last 00 turns to 01, then 02, up until 28 and for some reason when jumping to the next frame it turns from 00:00 28 to 00:01 00. Is the clip treated as if it was 29 fps?

The easiest way for me to reproduce is to record any video with my iPhone camera, that has the fps set to 25. When I import this clip in the Premiere Rush, the timer works the same way.

Thanks for the great notes. I wonder, though. Can you download MediaInfo (free) and post a screenshot of the "tree view" of your exported sequence? See if the sequence shows as 25 or 30. It's possible that you discovered an issue/bug. I hope we can help you with a workable solution.

Thanks,
Kevin
