The table of contents won't appear when I generate the layout, and open it in Internet Explorer.

Hi There,

I'm a new RoboHelp user, and whenever I generate my layout I don't see any of the toolbar content (Contents, Index, Search) in the IE window that shows the help.

I have chosen the TOC I created from the list in the layout properties window.

Any suggestions?

This is Internet Explorer only right? Do you see the yellow information bar either at the top (IE9 and lower) or bottom (IE10 and higher)? If you click 'Allow', it will work fine. It's an IE security thing. Once you put the help on a web server, it will work fine immediately.

If this doesn't help: which version of RoboHelp and IE are you using. Also, which output type are you creating?

Kind regards,

Willam

Thank you, William, for you respone, although it hasn't helped.

Interestingly, I recall that at first the TOC appeared, and I got that message. I clicked Allow and since then it won't show up!

I'm using IE 11 and RoboHelp 9.

I'll add that I made sure to create a mark of the web.

Thank you,David

Hi David,

RoboHelp 9 is not tested with IE 11. You can try the workaround on the below link :

IE10 patch for RoboHelp 9 installation | WvanWeelden.eu

I'm sorry but I did what was written on the link you sent, but it's still not working.I am using IE 11

When I copied the folder it merged it with the existing folder, but I overwrote the files with the same name. When I tried replacing the folder (I temporarily removed the current WebHelp5Ext folder) RH crashed.

Any more suggestions?

Thank you all,

David

RH9 is the issue here. There are several fixes to get RH9 behaving. Mayank already pointed you to the IE10 fix. I've also created an IE11 fix for RH9 (unsupported by Adobe). An overview of all fixes: http://www.wvanweelden.eu/articles/robohelp-patches-and-updates

Kind regards,

Willam
