I visit the site every day in the search section. And today I noticed that suddenly by default "Exclude Generative AI" is now set when searching!
This is a serious loss for the creators of AI content, because from now on AI content will sell even worse, several times worse.
Even if the user does not find a relevant image among regular photos and illustrations, Adobe Stock will not suggest options from AI content when setting "Exclude Generative AI"!
This is a terrible innovation for AI creators, about which the creators of AI content were not informed in any way.
How long will it last? Or forever?
Is there any information about this anywhere? News? I have not received any letter from Adobe.
People asked for Sticky, not Permanent!
Adobe rolled back the modifications. I suppose, based on that, that they tried something, and it did not work out as they thought it should.

That would make sense. My other concern is that, while I have a variety of different types of assets, I do manage to sell a lot of images of people. And I find it difficult to imagine that buyers will think to look specifically for AI images of people, especially since images of people have already developed a bad rap due to the too many fingers and countless other issues. But only time will tell.

Clarifying note for other users:
Adobe Stock did not provide the Sticky filter as requested by users, but changed the regular AI filter to a default value recently, which resets to the default value on page reload. This can be annoying when you search across all content without exception.

That's only half correct. They only changed the default value of the filter from "all" to "exclude" AI content on search. The rest of the filter behaviour is as it was before. Before, the site was also always resetting to the default value on a reload.
In addition, however, they changed also the information that is shown to the user on a search. Instead of keeping the filter options closed, they now expand that widget, so that users are aware of the filter feature. Before, many users simply did not know about the filter, with many other options to select from.

You have just written in your message what I have written here in all my messages. You don't have enough context that I've given in my messages.
I REPEAT IT AGAIN:
I GENERALLY don't mind that "Exclude Generative AI" is now set by default.
But from the user's point of view, this is a half-hearted solution to the Sticky checkbox problem, because in the END, the buyer, who NEEDS to search and buy among ALL the content, WILL AGAIN HAVE to CONSTANTLY remove this filter AFTER EACH PAGE RELOAD OR CLICK THROUGH THE ADOBE STOCK PAGES.
You can justify yourself as much as you like that "now it's easy to uncheck the Exlcude Generative AI filter, because just click on the cross." But after all, EXACTLY the SAME functionality could be added with the "All content" or "Include AI content" filter, so that the user could independently remove unnecessary content from AI when searching by simply clicking on the cross at the top of the screen.
It's that simple, isn't it?
Why are you against this option? At the same time, the same possibility of a permanently open panel with filters will remain, supposedly improving the user experience (although this is probably just an accompanying bug, and not an intentional innovation, since the filter window appears only when certain filters are set - you can check this yourself by hiding the filters when a filter value is set and reloading the page. As an engineer, I can say that the filter panel that opens is a side-effect bug and not a deliberate change).
Besides, you've just turned the statement that "it works the way it should" in your favor, but it doesn't. I'll say it like you - your words are only half correct. The developers of this new functionality simply changed the fixed checkbox from "All" to "Exclude Generative AI", without adding what people asked for, namely the Sticky checkbox. We need such functionality so that it is possible to check/uncheck ONCE, and then it does not CHANGE while working with the site or Adobe programs.
Please stop finding any flaw in my words, I understand your interest as a photographer so that this filter can now work against AI contributors. But I DID NOT WANT and DO NOT WANT EITHER the PREVIOUS functionality to exist, OR the NEW ONE, since it is worse for both USERS and PARTICIPANTS. I'm really sorry that your content suffered from the fact that buyers did not have the opportunity to save filters with "Exclude Generative AI". But we just need a typical Sticky checkbox.
Honestly, I feel like a devil's advocate when you try to find some demonic forces behind the supposedly destructive AI content in my simple Sticky Checkbox request.
I highly doubt that Adobe Stock's sales and earnings will improve from the current solution, and even more so that they will improve for AI contributors (even in the distant future). Users should have convenience, not throwing dirt from one vegetable garden to another.
Of course, if the current change is a really planned action by Adobe Stock, which is aimed at finding out whether this will increase sales (or stop their decline, if they are falling), then let them experiment, no one will tell them anything.
But for the purity of the experiment and the overall user experience, they should still add a Sticky checkbox, rather than limit themselves to the current simple changes, if they plan to sell AI content and attract AI contributors, rather than abandon all this and sever ties with AI contributors.

???

This is incorrect. When I click through the Adobe stock pages, any filter that I set is kept. When I change the search term, any filter that I set is kept. Only when I reload the stock pages, then the filter returns to the initial state. And this behaviour is as before. All filter settings return to their initial state when you refresh the page. Adobe did not change anything to this. That is because this filter setting is not sticky, as it should be in a nice standard environment.
You can justify yourself as much as you like that "now it's easy to uncheck the Exlcude Generative AI filter, because just click on the cross." Check how the filters work, and you will see that this is not true. Showing “All content” does set no filter value, that a user can click away. And: Clicking that away would do what exactly? “Show only AI” or “Show no AI”?

Probably the best news we've had in a while.

I think this feature makes sense. Though it's risky for sales as an AI artist if Adobe stock customers (consumers) want AI-generated content, why do they go for Adobe instead of AI platforms like Firefly? Customers (consumers) in Adobe stock want their money worth it by original content from designers. They can use Firefly if they need AI-generated content.
This is my point of view as a contributor of both (AI and hand crafted digital stuff) and may help you also.
