Edited keywords after accept, and order of appearance

Hi. I edited the keywords on some of my content that were previously accepted but the changes don't seem to display on the actual file page. Although the new saved amendments appear just fine on the individual images when I view from the contributer account, no change takes place on the actual file page even after waiting for a few hours and refreshing browsing data. Do the keywords go through an additional approval process and therefore longer waiting-times should be expected? Many thanks.
