Can't open project file | Failed to open projectsettings.ini

Hi, I seem to have a corrupt file, I didn't get any errors while saving last night, this morning when trying to open the file I get the error message.

After searching the forums it seems that usually you guys asked for the project file and log file.

I wanted to see if you'd be able to recover any of the work.

log file and screenshot of the error are attached. I can also privately send the project file.

Thank you

Hi all,

I've just had the "Failed to open projectsettings.ini" crash.  Is there no fix for this?  What was the outcome?

Simon.Is it STILL broken?

Its nearly a year later now, and apparently after working on the problem for 2 years, they either still haven't figured it out or have just given up.

HI. I'm Soham Rege. My email address is sohamr.sr@gmail.com. Even I'm having the same problem with Substance Painter for months now. It shows failed to load projectsettings.ini. It doesn't even allow me to use Substance Painter at all. Please help me.

Hi @Metal2Mesh,

Unfortunately you're right, saving directly on a NAS can corrupt the substance files. This is a known issue and we are working on it, but in the meantime, I'd advise you to save the project localy before moving it into the NAS.

It was saved locally and then sent to NAS as a backup and this morning later transfered back to my local drive. I needed old version cause when i added the the mesh it blew out a paint mask. and tried 2 different files and they were corrupted.

Hmmm, I'll definitely bring this up to the team. Thank you for reporting and sorry for the inconveniences.

Unfortunately no, I had to go back to a previous version and I lost a lot of work.

For some evry strange reason the forum does not allow me to upload the log so here's a link to it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ybR2m-SYmWwIbZ7AA4meqQeHz_5nuDm8/view?usp=sharing
