There is nothing standard in PostScript for device control beyond page size (though there is a standard framework which printers tend to follow). Each printer has its own specific set of job control, and you should refer to the "PostScript Language Supplement" for your printer to find what it supports. It's unlikely to work well, or at all. The resolution of a dot matrix is fine for text setting at carefully chosen sizes, but in a PDF everything is printed as graphics and there just isn't the resolution for that. There are continuous feed laser printers (if that's what you mean by 4 fold), designed for industrial scale printing. Ok, Preview  = Mac OS X Preview application, right? I think I have a sort of explanation. You have two different pieces of software on your system that can read PDFs. One is Acrobat. The other is Mac OS X itself. This Mac OS X PDF reader is used by Preview. And, it is used when Mail chooses to show a PDF on screen (which it sometimes does when you attach a single page PDF). So... it sounds as if Acrobat is working fine, but the Mac OS PDF Reader is not working too well for you. This isn't a separate product, it just gets updated with each release of Mac OS X. So if you are running an old Mac OS, it may be fixed in the latest. Ok, thanks for the file. You still didn't confirm whether you get the message about removing extended rights, and I guess you didn't. I can reproduce this. The procedure described works fine in Acrobat X. But in Acrobat XI there is the additional message in your post #11. What I suspect is happening is that the file is first saved identically, then it tries to take off the Reader enabling. This fails, and it gives up. But the copy is already saved; however, it is not modified. (Also, on my system, the file is still considered by Acrobat XI to be open, and cannot be re-opened without quitting). I do not know whether this is a general failure in Acrobat XI or something specific to your file. So at this point I'd give the advice: recreate the file if you don't have access to Acrobat X. (Perhaps you can copy/paste chunks of it to save time). I always advise keeping the ORIGINAL files (without password, signature, enabling or certification), because it has always been the case that some combinations of these can't be removed. ... View more
